This stunning Victorian sash buckle is large at 3 1/2 inches wide by 2 1/2 inches tall. The repousse design has lovely detailed flowers and leaves. It weighs 48 grams. Signed J.E. Caldwell Co. and Silver, this buckle is in excellent condition. These artisans built their items to last through multiple generations. When J. E. Caldwell passed in 1848 the company moved on with John C. Farr at the helm and continued to 1881 in Philadelphia. They exhibited at the first official World’s Fair in the United States in 1876. What a wonderful piece of history to own!*
