Merlin Bird Art Print, Book Plate. 1970#39;s Falcon, Large Bird of Prey Book Page Color Plate print for framing by J. F. Lansdowne. Print copyright is 1978. Large print on heavy white paper. Last photos are examples of framed prints in a gallery. These prints are larger than most of the other bird prints I have, so please be aware of this in case you would like more than one and want them to match.
James Fenwick Lansdowne was a self-taught Canadian wildlife artist. Lansdowne was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Victoria, British Columbia. His first show was at the Royal Ontario Museum in 1956. Lansdowne#39;s detailed watercolours of birds are similar in style to the work of John James Audubon - often featuring a specific species against a largely white background - but his subjects tend to display a greater lifelike quality and more natural postures than Audubon#39;s. His original paintings can be found in the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto and Audubon House in New York.
Condition: The condition is excellent. Print has no issues.
